Cinderella: an Old-Time Florida Fairy Tale
Running Time: 45 Minutes | For Ages 3 and Up This musical version of Cinderella features handcrafted rod puppets, storytelling and audience participation. Puppeteer and storyteller Katie Adams blends Florida culture into the twists and turns of Cinderella's journey, accompanied by the nostalgic strains of hammered dulcimer music. Will "Ella" make it to the Spring Dance to meet Jasper Fairfield, the cattle rancher's son? Through her own gumption and the help of her magical fairy godmother, Ella foils the plans of her mean stepmother, and lives happily ever after. The great Baobab tree spreads its limbs giving food and shelter to all the animals. There in its branches lives Anansi the Spider, full of mischief and schemes. Always quick to steal and cheat, Anansi never learns his lesson. He perpetually comes back for more, providing humor and positive life lessons for us all.
Katie uses colorful puppets, a large-sized Baobab tree with shadow puppets, and African music to bring these stories to life. Stories include Anansi and the Hat Shaking Dance, The Secret Heart of the Tree, and The Red and Green Hat.

How Color Came to the World, Folk Tales from Latin America - Shadow Puppet show
Running Time: 45 Minutes | For Ages 3 to 8 Lights! Color! Action! Storyteller and puppeteer Katie Adams performs Hispanic stories with a dash of Spanish words, a splash of colorful shadow puppets, and audience participation. Stories include How Color came to the World, an Aztec myth about the origin of the rainbow, The Proud Cuckoo Bird, a Mayan tale from Mexico, Mariposa Martinez, a favorite tale from Cuba about a butterfly, and Medio Pollito, a folktale from Spain that has traveled all over Latin America. This forty-five minute show emphasizes kindness, tolerance and helping others. |

The Velveteen Rabbit
